Priscilla of Boston Trunk Show
Thursday, July 24th, 2008
I just got back from the Priscilla of Boston trunk show in Millburn, and what a fun night it was. Tracy Uomoleale, the designer for the Priscilla line (who also lives in New Jersey!), was on hand to consult with brides and pick out dream gowns for a number of New Jersey brides. Tracy (pictured here with Hoboken bride Lauren LaGreco) is such a talented designer and was fascinating to talk to about how she designs her gorgeous gowns and where she derives her inspiration. She was also great at determining which gowns would look fabulous on which brides. It was really a fun process to watch…almost as much fun as trying on the gowns themselves!
Trunk shows are truly a worthwhile event to attend as a bride. You’re often exposed to designers like Tracy who can truly make your hunt for the perfect gown the best it can be. And you’ll often encounter such extras as gown customizations or discounts. In this case, if you ordered your gown from Priscilla during the trunk show, you’d save 10 percent, which is a sizable discount considering the cost of wedding gowns. And you’ll also meet other wedding vendors who can help you plan your wedding.
At Priscilla’s, Ome Caterers provided unbelievable hors d’oeuvres—the gazpacho and Kobe beef appetizers were my favorite! Steve Bloom Entertainment provided the perfect background music. And the Dain Shoppe, known for their expert bra fittings, displayed some of their great selections, including really fun hoodies for the flower girls.
As I continue to hear about more trunk shows in New Jersey, I’ll let you know. Be sure to keep checking the Trunk Show category on my blog for more listings.
